John Oubre Henderson, age 27, passed away Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015. A celebration of John Oubre’s life will start at 11 a.m. at Cross Point Church of Christ on Thursday, Sept. 3rd. The service will follow at 1 p.m. at the church, with Brother Frank Mills officiating. Interment will be at Wesley’s Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mark Henderson, Michael, Justin and Paden Henderson, Dennis Burgess and Russ Lambert. Tony Hein, Chris Brust, Rick Cannon, Billy Jackson and Daniel Creel will serve as honorary pallbearers.
John Oubre was a member of Cross Point Church of Christ where he served on the recent mission trip to Antigua and planned to return this month to work with the Antigua children. He was a 2006 graduate of Central High School where he was on the golf team and football team. He was an avid hunter, loved the outdoors and was passionate about Alabama football. John Oubre never met a stranger, and he loved to spend time with his family.
He is survived by his parents, Mark and Sherri Henderson; maternal grandmother, Patricia Gist; sisters, Marti Brust (Chris) and Macie Henderson; brothers, Michael Henderson (Kelly), Justin Henderson and Paden Henderson; niece, Ann Parker Henderson; nephews, Drew and Luke Brust; and several aunts and uncles.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to John Oubre Henderson Scholarship Fund to Antigua. Checks should be made payable to Cross Point Church of Christ.
