Mr. John Olson, age 85, of Hartselle, died November 2, 2014. His funeral will be Tuesday, November 4, 2014, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jimmy Legg officiating. Burial will be in Hartselle Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service.
Mr. Olson was born October 24, 1929, in Marshall County, to John Virgil Olson and Audrey Reeder Olson. He was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church and retired from Wolverine Tube as an electrician. He was a Korean War Veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Earle Payne Olson; one son, Johnny Wayne Olson (Sandra), of Dayton, Tn; two daughters, Jerri Lynn Shaneyfelt and Bettye Ann Thompson, both of Hartselle; one brother, Jerry Olson, of Decatur; two sisters, Mary Shadrick, of Birmingham and Carol Franks, of Hartselle; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Brad Shaneyfelt, Clint Olson, Cain Olson, Luke Hogan, Roy Poe and Jason Kennemer
