John Noah Cates, age 95, passed away Aug. 24, 2017. He was a World War II Navy veteran. He was a member of Flint Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Bobbie Cates; three daughters, Linda James, Judy Roberts and Donna Auen, all of Decatur; six granddaughters, two great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter; one sister of Florence and many nephews and nieces.
There will be no visitation and a graveside service only in Lauderdale County. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Building Fund of Flint Baptist Church, 4119 Hwy 31 South, Decatur, AL 35603 or to Hospice of the Valley.
