John Nicholas Tirpack Jr., 76, of Decatur, passed away Wednesday.
He was preceded in death by father, John Nicholas Tirpack; mother, Mary Tirpack; Step-mother, Anne Tirpack.
Surviving are wife, Henrietta “Hanky” Maria Tirpack; 3 God Children, David Myrick, Donnie Myrick, and Amanda Myrick Davis; Step-sister, Nancy (Gary) Keebaugh; brother-n-law, Terry (Lynn) Fello; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Tirpack was the founder and director of nuclear medicine for Decatur/Morgan General Hospital were he served for 32 years. He was a volunteer with the local Jaycees from the late 1970’s till the early 1990’s, and served as president of Lake Logan homeowners association. Mr. Tirpack proudly served his country for three years in the United States Army. He was stationed in Fort Benning, GA where he trained soldiers to work in the medical units in the Vietnam War.
Visitation will be Saturday 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. A grave-side service will be held at Bush Cemetery, Saturday at 1:30 PM.
