John Moulton Davis, of Huntsville passed away Sunday, September 15th, 2019 at age 81. John was born in Nottingham, England to John Henry and Gladys. He received his PhD in Physics from Leeds University in 1964 and soon after moved to the U.S. for his post-doctorate work at MIT. John would later work for AS&E as a solar physicist, where he met his free-spirited wife, Margie, whom he married in 1976. He moved the family to Huntsville in 1986 to become a manager with NASA, where he ultimately retired in 2010. Despite his many contributions to the scientific community, Dr. Davis was most known around town for his competitive spirit on the pitch, charitable contributions, and quick wit.

John is survived by his son, Jeffrey; sister, Sally; and granddaughter, Ann. He is predeceased by Margie, who passed on the same day, seven years prior. Arrangements will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Sierra Club.
