John McKinney, 85, of Owens Cross Roads, passed away Friday.
He worked 35 years for the US Army Missile command.
He was preceded in death by father, W. E. McKinney, mother, Mae Cobb McKinney, and great grandson, Carter Barrett Moore.
Surviving are wife of 63 years, Virginia “Ginny” McKinney, daughter, Julia McKinney (Nelson) Moore, daughter, Cindy McKinney (Paul) Pittman, grandson, Jordan (Stephanie) Moore, granddaughter, Chelsi (Ross) Layne, grandson, Preston (Amanda) Moore, grandson, Blake (Charity) Pittman, grandson, Dimitry Pittman, granddaughter, Liana (Zach) Young, grandson, Zachary Pittman, and great grandchildren, Tucker Layne, Baylee Moore, Carson Moore and Saylor Layne, sisters, Flora McDonald and Myrle Fowler.
Visitation will be Saturday 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at Green Valley Cemetery, Sunday at 2:30 PM with Chris Powell officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family would like memorial donations to be made to Owens Cross Roads Methodist Church (P.O. Box 117 Owens Cross Roads, AL 35763).
