John Martin Walsted, 65, died Saturday, June 8, 2019 at his residence. He was born in Chicago, IL and was a truck driver for forty years. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and NRA.
Services will be Tuesday, June 11, 1 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Dennis, MS with Bro. David Gould officiating. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are his wife – Michelle Walsted, Dennis, MS; two daughters – Bonnie Walsted of Wisconsin and Heather Massaro of Michigan; adopted children – Ana and Brian Williams; three step-children – Ben Crum (Alayna), Stacey Sweeney (Bernie) and Ashley Ledkins (Michael); thirteen grandchildren; one sister – Kris Walsted, Elgin, IL and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Bryan Massaro, his parents, Herman and Mary Gilroy Walsted, a brother, Tom Walsted and two sisters, Mary Pfortmiller and Karen Walsted.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 11, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Dennis, MS.
