John M. Williams, age 104 of Huntland, passed away on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems in Winchester. He was born on September 19, 1917, in Plevna, Alabama to the late George Washington and Price Stone Williams. John was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army. He retired after many years of employment from Franklin Farmers Co-Op. In his spare time, he enjoyed cheering for the Atlanta Braves, fishing, and gardening. He was a man of strong faith and was a devoted member of Mountain Fork Primitive Baptist Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his beloved wife of seventy-six years, Loretta Payne Williams; three brothers, Alvie, Kenneth, and Ralph Williams; six sisters, Estelle Mason, Delilah Williams, Annie Lou Brewer, Lorene Isbell, Gladys Watson Green, and Lavonia Lee. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Williams Sanders; son, Johnny B. Williams; grandson, Brett H. Gilliam and wife, Robin F. Gilliam; great-granddaughters, Sara and Grace Gilliam; and many nieces and nephews. Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 1. 2022 at Mt. Carmel Cemetery with Elder R.H.
