John Lucius Gifford, Sr., 81, of Athens, passed away on Friday, February 13th, 2026, at his residence. Mr. Gifford was born on Augus 18th, 1944, in Santa Maria, California, to John and Belle (Pico) Gifford.
Mr. Gifford is survived by his wife Kay Gifford; children, Susan Gottesman of Florida, John Gifford, Jr. of California, and Jo Ann Kirkpatrick of California; stepdaughter, Daphne Anderson of Alabama; stepson, Jon Strowig of Kansas; five grandchildren, five step-grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and brother Bob Gifford.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Maurine Gifford; and brothers, Dick Wallace and Jimmy Gifford.
Mr. Gifford loved hot rods, trucks, and grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in Nipomo, CA.
