Mr. John Leon McCauley, age 83, passed away Tuesday June 2, 2026 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro from an extended illness. John was born on October 12, 1942 in Leesburg, VA to the late Lenord and Connie Francis Thompson McCauley. John was a long-time truck driver and later in life worked extensively with the local Mennonite Community. He very proudly served his country as a U. S. Marine and was of the Christian faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother; Jimmy Sisk.
John is survived by his loving family, wife; Patsy Jean McCauley, son; Scott (Beth) McCauley, stepsons; Bryan (Valarie) Armstrong, Jay (Leona) Armstrong, sister; Gerri (Roby) Kestner, special nephew; Roby (Carmen) Kestner Jr., grandchildren; Morgan McCauley, Rebecca (Adam) Morrow, Corey, Benjamin, Rachel, Bethany and David Armstrong, great-grandchildren; Joseph and Colton Redding, Alexander, Percival and Valarie Jane Morrow.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday June 9, 2026 at 2:00pm (central time) in the Layne Chapel with Bro. Bryan Armstrong officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday at 1:00pm till time of service at 2:00pm (central time).
Burial will take place on Wednesday June 10, 2026 at 11:00am (eastern time) in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
