On May 28, 1940, John Lee (J.L.) Greer began his life’s journey on Earth. That journey ended and God called him home on August 3, 2023. He was the son of John Thomas (Johnny) Greer and Zora Lee Parham Greer. J.L. was a graduate of Pine Grove High School, where he was an outstanding basketball player. He played under the leadership of Coach J.M. Holley and they remained friends until Coach Holley’s death.

J.L. was a hard worker and was employed by Futorian Manufacturing Company in New Albany until he became disabled.

J.L. was a Christian. He would tell anyone who would listen that he was saved and ready for God to call him home. He was a member of Mt. View Baptist Church. J.L. enjoyed coon hunting and was an avid sports fan. He could talk endlessly about any sport, especially if it involved Ole Miss.
