Mr. John Larry Barbee age 76, of Murfreesboro, TN, died Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Ascension St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN. He was born on September 22, 1946 in McMinnville, TN, was a retired appraiser and property assessor for Rutherford County, a graduate of Tennessee Technological University with a degree in Engineering, a former owner of his own real estate appraisal business, and sold real estate for Summar-Lane Realty. John loved fishing, camping, and his grandchildren most of all. He was a member of the Highland Masonic Lodge #214 and enjoyed playing piano and guitar.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years Sandra Ferrell Barbee, son and daughter-in-law Brad and Haley Barbee, and grandchildren Lila Vivian Barbee and John David Barbee. Mr. Barbee was preceded in death by his parents John and Josie Jewel Neal Barbee.
Funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 01, 2022 at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Paul Dunlap will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. The Barbee family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. with a Masonic Service being conducted at 6:30 P.M. and then again on Thursday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at McMinnville Funeral Home.
