John L. Roberts, age 80, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2025.
John was born on July 15, 1944, in Haleyville, Alabama, to John Little Roberts Jr. and Doris Mayhall Roberts. He was of the Baptist faith, a graduate of Haleyville High School, and a graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor’s Degree. John was retired from the P&L Railway, where he served as a Train Master and Yard master.
John’s hobbies included watching Auburn Football, mowing the lawn, and being outdoors. He also looked forward to attending train shows with his friends, and spending time with the people he loved.
Survivors include two daughters, Tracie Huskamp (Earl Jr), Wichita, Kansas and Christa Nall (Roy), Bardstown, Kentucky; two brothers, Paul Roberts (Lyn), Atlanta, Georgia, and Leslie Roberts (Robin), Decatur, Alabama; two granddaughters, Jessica Land and Alison King (Michael); two great-grandchildren, Noah King and Kruz King.
Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Jamie Boone officiating. Visitation will be held at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, from 5:00 pm until service time.
Visitation will be at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville, Alabama, on Friday, April 11, 2025 from 1:00PM – 2:00PM, with the funeral at 2:00PM in the chapel. Burial will be in the Winston Memorial Cemetery.
