John “Johnny” Ottis Carroll, Jr., 71 of Addison, entered into rest on Monday, February 17, 2014 at Huntsville Hospital.
Johnny was born on August 11, 1942 in Birmingham, AL. He was a member of Upshaw Friendship Baptist Church, where he had served as Deacon, teacher and treasurer. He graduated from Addison High School and Jacksonville State University. He retired nine years ago from Sparta Corporation as Engineering Manager.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 20, 2014 from 6-8pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Addison. A private memorial service will be held at a later time.
Johnny is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara Andrews Carroll; son, Terry Carroll and his wife Dawn; daughter, Jennifer Carroll; brother, Donnie Carroll and his wife Linda; and one granddaughter, Amanda Carroll Warriner
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Ottis Carroll, Sr. and Audrey Denton Carroll; and grandson, William Blake Carroll.
In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to the Alabama Baptist Children’s Home, 1404 6th Avenue SE, Decatur, Alabama 35601.
