John Jackie Ownby, 75, a native of Cleveland, Tennessee and a resident of Lauderdale County, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at E.C.M. Hospital after a brief illness. He was retired from Frito Lay, Inc., a former member of the Florence Jaycees and Free Masons.
Visitation will be Friday, September 27, 2013 from 1 – 3 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home with the funeral service beginning at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Jeffrey Beech. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
Mr. Ownby was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ownby, parents, Orville and Lucille Ownby; grandparents, John and Mary Etta Crawford.
He is survived by his sons, Terry Ownby of Muscle Shoals, Timothy Jack Ownby of Florence; daughter, Tammie Ownby of Florence; step-mother, Frankie Ownby of Cleveland, TN; daughter-in-law: Laura Ownby; brother, Rick Ownby (Vickie) of Cleveland, TN; sister, Joyce Ownby Kissel of Flintstone, GA; grandchildren, Emily Ownby, Elizabeth Ownby of Muscle Shoals.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
