John Hubert Pugh, 95, of Cherokee passed away Sunday, September 2.
John was retired from Reynolds and served in the Army 9th Air Core during World War II. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Cherokee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Pugh and Alma (Swaim); wife, Christine Pugh; son, Harold Pugh; grandson, Joey Pugh.
Survivors include his son, John Carlton Pugh (Jean); grandchildren, David Pugh and Kristie Cain (Ray); step-grandchild, Casey Cornelius; great-grandchildren, Gage Pugh, Hunter McAnally, and Brooke Cain; step-grandchild, Weston Cornelius; nephew, Glen Enlow and nieces, Glenda Williams (Chester) and Judy Dexter.
John enjoyed hunting turkey and deer and loved making peanut brittle.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 5, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. The service will be Thursday, September 6 at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Steve Slaton officiating. Burial will be in Mynot Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jerald Wallace, Ralph Rutland, William James, Darryl Wallace, Jimmy Tapp, and Jerry Collinsworth.
