Memorial Service for John Hoyt Jones, 92, of Decatur, will be Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at 6:00PM at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Geoffrey Jones, Rodney Jones, and Todd Jones officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Jones died on Friday, July 5, 2024 at his residence. He was born April 25, 1932 in Flintville, Tennessee to David and Ada Hastings Jones.
Mr. Jones served in the Korean War as a US Army Drill Sergeant. After his time in the Army, he became a master barber but, his true passion was the car business. He loved selling cars and just about always his customers became his friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, eight siblings, Lucille Ogle, L.W. Jones, Doris Mcinnish, Aaron Jones, Bobbie Moore, Donald Jones, Eloise Pruitt, and his twin sister, Emily Williams.
He is survived by three sons, Rodney Jones (Sandy) of Grant Park, IL; Geoffrey Jones of Bourbonnais, IL; Todd Jones (Karen) of Bradley, IL; grandchildren, Ryan, Joshua, Zachary, Geoffrey, Mariah, Caleb, Taylor, and Georgia; great-grandchildren, Liam, Latham, Aria, Brinley, Sienna, and Natalie; twenty-two nieces and nephews
