John Francis Myers, Sr., 79, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, August 28, 2026.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Monday, August 31, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home.
Mr. Myers was born to the late Francis Myers and Vivian Whittington Martin. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, having served from 1963 until 1969, including service during the Vietnam War.
In 1990, Mr. Myers established Myers Door Company, where he built a successful business. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.
John was preceded in death by the love of his life, Carolyn Myers, whom he married on June 15, 1968. He was also preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his sons, John F. Myers, Jr. (Celeste) of Platte City, Missouri, Todd Myers (Mitzi Caillouet) of Madisonville, Louisiana, and James F. Myers (Amber) of Santa Fe, Tennessee; eight grandchildren, Nathaniel James Myers (Haley Starmer), James Dylan Myers, Katelyn Michelle Myers, Tessa Brooke Myers, Tinslee Chacey Myers, Lauren Catherine Myers, Kayla Nicole Myers, and Channing Blake Myers; and his sister, Mary Jo Brown.
Pallbearers will be Nathaniel Myers, Cody Goodman, Tim Looney, Mike White, Dan Venere, James Myers, Todd Myers, and John Myers, Jr. Honorary pallbearer will be Joseph Looney.
John will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his commitment to his work, his service to his country, and the love he shared with those around him.
