John Floyd Tomlin, 82, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Darlington Oaks in Verona. He was born September 18, 1930 to the late William Henry and Mary Beulah Parker Tomlin. He retired from Sears, Inc. after many years of service. He was a member of Dorsey Baptist Church where served as a Deacon and taught Sunday School Classes for many years. He was a Army veteran of the Korean war, enjoyed fishing, and visiting with family and friends.
He is survived by a son, Bill (Cindy) Tomlin of Fulton, 3 Grandsons, Isaac Tomlin, Harley Tomlin, and Jeffery Chamblee, 1 Granddaughter, Deaven Tomlin, 1 Sister, Marcel Smith of Fulton, Brother in law, R.L. Estes of Tupelo, Brother In Law, Jerry (Peggy) Estes of Shannon, Sister in Law, Jimmie Ann (Richard) Layman of Birmingham, AL, Sister in Law, Linda Hood of Tupelo, Several Nieces and Nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene Estes Tomlin, Parents, William Henry and Mary Beulah Tomlin, Son, Jack Tomlin, Sister, Sue White.
Pallbearers will be the Deacons at Dorsey Baptist Church.
