John Elmer Nichols, age 80, Russellville, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2016 at Russellville Hospital.
Mr. Nichols was a retired Chief Master Sergeant in the U. S. Air Force after serving for 36 years. The visitation will be 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 21, 2016 at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Lloyd Griffus officiating. Entombment will be at Winston Memory Cemetery in the mausoleum following military honors.
He was preceded in death by his father, Seamon Nichols and mother, Lula (Emerson) Nichols.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 47 plus years, Melba Jean Nichols; children, Becky Pennington (husband, Gary), Austin Darling; grandchildren, Michelle Gibson (husband, Mike), Tina Voss (husband, Sam), Tami Pennington, Rachel Pennington; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Elva Jones, Delmer Nichols (wife, Sherry), Jack Hammock (wife, Jennie), Joe Hammock (wife, Jan); and a host of nieces & nephews.
Spry Memorial Chapel assisted the family.
