John Elmer Grissom, 89, of Spruce Pine, Alabama, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2019, at Generations Nursing Home in Red Bay, Alabama. A native of Franklin County, Alabama, he was retired from Russellville Water Department and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Visitation with family and friends will be Tuesday, November 19, 2019, at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. with funeral services beginning at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home chapel. Officiating will be Lonnie Oldag. Burial will be in Quinn Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Grissom is survived by his children: David Grissom and wife Pam; Carolyn Thompson and husband Lynn; and daughter-in-law, Glenda Grissom; grandchildren: Darren and Stacy Grissom, Lance and Jamie Grissom, Daniel and Resee Mims, Michael and Candace Baum, and Cody Grissom; great grandchildren: Hunter Grissom, Whitney Cole, Magen Johnson, Jared Grissom, Laura Rose Grissom, Lexie Mims, and Asher Baum; great great grandchildren: Xander, Silas, and Carlee; other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were wife, Euna Fay Grissom; parents: Herman and Hattie Grissom; son, Danny Grissom and great great grandchild, Corbin Grissom.
Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, is directing.
