John Edward Vandiver, age 86, of Tuscumbia, passed away on Sunday, July 02, 2023, at Shoals Hospital Senior Care.
John worked and retired from E.S. Robbins and continued to be a farmer working on his land. He was the oldest living member of Mtn Home #1 Missionary Baptist Church and in the last few years, he enjoyed attending the Colbert County Cowboy Church. John enjoyed helping anyone he could, and he touched a lot of lives. He always had a special love for children and adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family was everything to John and he always had a story to tell. He was of the generation that knew many trades and could fix almost everything.
The visitation will be 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. Friday, July 07, 2023, at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will follow in the chapel at 6:00 p.m. with Bro. Truman Sutton officiating the service. The burial will be at Vandiver Hollow Cemetery.
The pallbearers will be Eddie Vandiver, Bradley Tidwell, Drew Bumpas, Joe Clemons, John Brandon Vandiver, and Billy Brady.
The family would like to thank Peggy Mishue, Dannyell McDougle, Matthew Montgomery, and Hospice of North Alabama for the love and care shown to our family.
