John D. Emerson  John Druey Emerson, age 61, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Hospice Family Care in Huntsville, AL. John was born in Morgan County, Alabama on June 17, 1963. His parents were Druey Abney (D.A.) Emerson and Irene Ann Humphrey Emerson. He and Susan Carter Emerson were married for over thirty-eight years. John was a high school graduate and had earned his technical degree. He worked as a Lead Mechanical Engineering Technician at Redstone Arsenal. He was a member of Life Gate Baptist Church where he previously led the song service. He enjoyed Alabama Football, grilling out and singing at his beloved church.

Family members left behind to cherish memories include his wife, Susan Carter Emerson; daughter, Whitney Emerson, mother, Irene Emerson;, brother, Mark Emerson (Cam); nephews, Seth Emerson, and Brandon Emerson. John was preceded in death by his father, D.A. Emerson.

From 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Sunday, February 16, 2025 family, friends and guests will gather at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel to honor and recognize John’s accomplishments and the powerful and positive influence he has been to all of us. The funeral service will be at Life Gate Baptist Church on Monday, February 17, 2025 at 2:00 pm. He will lie in state at the church for an hour prior to the funeral service. Brother Jeff Mims, Brother Kevin Connell and Brother Shawn Graves will conduct services. Pallbearers escorting John to his final resting place in Arab Memorial Cemetery will be Bobby Hurst, Marty Stephens, Randy Putnam, Scott Howard, Tom Kress and George Ellis. Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon and Seth Emerson. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel entrusted with arrangements.
