John Douglas Stutts, 75, Leighton, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2023. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 1, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be Thursday, November 2, at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Sammy Dennis and Greg Beasley officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Town Creek.
Doug was retired from Reynolds after forty-two years. He enjoyed farming, working on his antique cars, and watching his grandkids play. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Orine Stutts, and brother, Dan Stutts.
Doug is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Betty Stutts; children, Jody Stutts (Sonya), Cory Stutts (Gina), and Lisa Yarber; brothers, Billy Stutts and T. J. Stutts; sister, Louise King; grandchildren, Britney Myers (Chase), Tory Ann Stutts, Colten Stutts (Brianna), Blake Beavers, Drake Beavers (Summer), Jordan Beavers (Madison), Ali Beavers (David), Harley Berry (Curt), and Hayden Stutts; and great-grandchildren, Addison, Camden, Waverly, Brant, Finleigh, Kasen, Harper, and Baylor.
Pallbearers will be Blake Beavers, Drake Beavers, Jordan Beavers, David Looney, Colten Stutts, Curt Berry, and Dylan Stutts. Hayden Stutts will serve as honorary pallbearer.
