On December 31, 2025, God sent an angel, and John Dennis answered. John Dennis departed this life at his home. Born on June 22, 1939, as John Dennis Glenn Sr. to Dennis Glenn and Lillian Holder-Glenn of Gibson County, Tennessee.

John Dennis attended school at Ward Grove and the Gibson public school system. He was a devoted husband, father, dedicated grandfather and a loving friend. He professed a hope and love in Christ at Friendship Grove Missionary Baptist Church and later united with Springhill Missionary under leadership of Pastor Burriss. While at Springhill, he served in the capacity as a devout deacon, Chairman of the deacon board until his health failed, member of the Male Chorus, Superintendent of Sunday School, church bus driver, and a dedicated member of the Trinity Baptist District Association.

John and his wife Joycie were foster parents for over 15 years. John was employed by Foamex in 1965 as a production worker. He worked for over 38 years until his retirement. John Dennis was a jack of all trades and an entrepreneur. Those who knew him knew that he had several trades. He was a former member of Progressive #242 as a Mason. Some of his favorite foods were Fried Catfish, bananas and ice cream that he could eat all day long.

John Dennis was proceeded in death by his parents Dennis and Lillian Holder-Glenn, a son Jarvis Glenn, two sisters Lucy Glenn, and Mildred Fields, two brothers Dennis Lee Glenn, and Charles Glenn.

His devoted caretakers were Penny Lou Hawkins, Collette (Peaches) Dance, Keisha Jones, and Mary Davis. A special devoted and dedicated neighbor/ caretaker Mr. William Fields.

He leaves a devoted wife of 65 blessed years, Joycie D. Glenn, two daughters, Julie (Kerry) Powell, and Jacqueline Glenn, three sons, James Glenn, Jerome Glenn, and John Jr (Jessie) Glenn, two sisters, Berneva Elam, and Gussie (John) Dunbar, a God daughter, Miyoshi Russell-Brooks, 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, four sisters-in-law Barbara (Mack) Milan, Rose ( Dewayne) Vinson, Mattie (Jerry) Hill, Shirley (late Bobby) Hill, three brothers-in-law, Kenny Hill, Timothy Hill, and Therlo Bailey and a Proud fur baby parent to “Baby Girl” Glenn.
