Mr. John David Hanes 68 years old from the Fairview Community, passed away Monday, August 31, 2020 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. “Johnny”, as he was affectionately known was born to G.N. “Bill” and Arnilla Cook Hanes on November 28, 1951 and grew up in the Joppa & Baileyton Communities. He attended Fairview Baptist Church and attended Lystra Baptist Church with his mother, Arnilla. Johnny loved boating on the lake on his pontoon boat, four wheeling and spending time with his family that he loved dearly. He is survived by his two sons, Scott Hanes (Tammy), Kris Hanes (Beth) ; two brothers, Frank Hanes (Barbara), Ronnie Hanes (Adele); sister, Teresa Golden (Joe); grandchildren, Miranda Hanes, Tyler Hanes, Kolton Hanes, and Kaden Hanes. Johnny is preceded in death by parents G. N. “Bill” and and Arnilla; his sister and brother- in law Cheryl H. and Jim Kanzenbach. A visitation will be held at Lystra Baptist Church on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM with a graveside service to be held in the Lystra Baptist Church Cemetery at 10:00 AM. Reverend John Garrison and Reverend Daryl Cook will be officiating the service. Pall bearers are Tyler Hanes, Sam Hinkle, Shane Withey, DeWayne Withey, Randy Guthrie and Kevin Green.
