John Daren Henry, 60, departed this life on June 8th, 2025, to join his parents John
and Reba Henry; his stepfather, Richard (Dick) Milton and his best friend
“Princess”. Daren is survived by his sister Johnna Henry Watts (Tony); his niece and
nephew Kari Watts and Zachary Watts; and too many friends to count.
Daren was born March 3, 1965, the oldest of 2 children of John and Reba
(Wiggington) Henry of Somerville, Alabama. After graduating from A. P. Brewer
High School he joined his father in their family milling business where they
developed a close bond that lasted both of their lives. Some of Daren’s favorite
pastimes were riding tractors with his nephew Zac and letting his niece Kari paint
his toenails or anything else they wanted to do since he could never say no to them.
Daren also loved time spent with his friends eating, shooting, tinkering or just
porch sitting. He was very loyal to his friends and after his health deteriorated they
proved to be just as loyal: calling daily, running errands for him, and bringing him
meals, in spite of, risking their lives on his hazardous driveway. Daren left this
world the same way he lived in it…on his own terms at home in his recliner. His
friends and family pray his heaven is filled with his favorite things: his loved ones
who have gone before him, tractors, his mother’s cooking, the smell of diesel and a
front porch to sit on with a beautiful view.
In honor of his wishes, Mr. Henry will not have a funeral service. His family
suggests donations can be made to the animal shelter of choice in memory of his
life.
