John Carl “Johnny” Evans – Obituary

johnJohn Carl “Johnny” Evans, 53, passed away at UAB on April 9, 2014, after a brief illness. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Rayford H. and Maria Evans, and brother Harvey Evans.

He is survived by wife, Wanda Evans; brothers, Rudolph William Evans (Jackie) and Pete Evans; sister, Anna Evans Aragon; uncle, William Evans, of Cullman; nephews, Adam Evans, Jamie Creasy, Jonathan Hall, and Kyson Barrientos; nieces, Candi Hall, Casey Hall, Brandi Creasy, Nevaeh Aldeir and Tia Ricks; as well as several aunts, cousins, and friends.

Johnny was extremely talented, personable, and funny. He loved people and loved life. He was a loving and generous person. He loved working with his hands and mind. There wasn’t any project that he couldn’t handle. He was lovingly referred to as a Jack of all trades, and he mastered them all. He was always available to fix anything that broke or help anyone who needed it. He was everyone’s “go-to” man. He loved children, especially his nieces and nephews, and they loved him.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tibbis Johnson, Steve Booth, Mike Hall, Mike Harwell, Tim Frenzel, Wade Sockwell, and Scott Holt.

Services will be held at Morrison Funeral Home Chapel, Tuscumbia, on April 13, 2014. Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. with the funeral service at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to one’s favorite charity would be welcomed. Johnny’s favorite charity was St Jude Children’s Hospital and the local humane shelter.
