John Calep Patterson, age 40 of Double Springs, passed away Friday, September 11, 2026. He was born November 27, 1985 to Johnny and Deborah Patterson. John was a hard worker. He loved God and attended Union Grove Freewill Baptist Church. John was known for his kind heart, great sense of humor, and love for his family- especially his wife and kids. He was an amazing husband, father, and son. John was a “good man.” Visitation will be Tuesday, September 15, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs, where the service will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Union Grove Cemetery in the Black Pond Community. Brother Henry Kennedy and Brother Mickey Millican will officiate. Pallbearers will be Zach Smith, Jacob Patterson, Alex Patterson, Levi Patterson, Jason Key, Ben Harrison, Jamie Sullivan, and Alec Sides. John is survived by his wife, Courtnie Patterson; children, Hunter Patterson, Finley Patterson, Adalyn Chapman, and Jon-Henry Chapman; parents, Johnny and Deborah Patterson; mother and father in law, Henry and Tammie Kennedy; brother, Matt (Kayla) Patterson; sister in law, Maggie (Zachary) Smith; grandparents, Patricia (Jim) White, and Buddy and Faye Patterson; grandparents in law, Paul and Doris Kennedy and Betty Glenn; nieces and nephews, Matti Patterson, Rogen Patterson, Logan Smith, Scarlette Smith, and Rhyatt Smith; aunts and uncles, Randy (Rita) Patterson, Tony (Shondra) Patterson, Mistie (Jamie) Smothers, and Rhonda Jett; and a host of cousins, family, and friends.
