Funeral for John C. Laymon, 73, of Decatur will be Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at Parkway Funeral Home at 2 p.m. with Rev. Jimmy Powers officiating with burial in Flat Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon untill 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Laymon, who died Saturday, March 19, 2016, in Decatur, was born Friday. Feb. 12, 1943, to Lonnie Laymon and Emma Dean Laymon. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lonnie Laymon; parents; and wife, Barbara Laymon.
Survivors include wife, Flossie Lamon, four sons, Stanley Laymon, Perry Laymon, Richie Laymon and John D. Laymon; four daughters, Tammie Holland, Emma Melson, Michelle Landers, Brittany Laymon, and Cassie Slaten; two brothers, Kenneth Laymon and Marvin Laymon; two sisters, Gracie Kitchens and Lucille Blackwell; 21 grandchildren, Michael Tippett, Logan Galvez, Tosha Nelms, Todd Laymon, Dylan Melson, Courtnee Melson, Cassidi Melson, Damen Melson, April Ledlow, Leah Sapp, Josh Davis, Becka Stricklin, Jay Laymon, Ethan Laymon, Daniel Davis, Mason Nichols, Hailey Clemmons, Sara Slaten, T.J. Roberts, Tyler Roberts, Taylor Roberts; ten great-grandchildren, Dakota Nelms, Aubree Laymon, Karlee Laymon, Hunter Stricklin, Jamine Holmes, Kaylee Holmes, Savannah Ledlow, Whitley Sapp, Tamra Nichols and Neveah Davis.
Pallbearers will be Michael Nelms, Dewayne Davidson, McGee Laymon, James Landers, and Will Holland.
