Mr. John Brannon Reece, a great fun loving, caring and kind soul, at age 27, departed this life unexpectedly on Friday, December 2, 2022 as a result of an automobile accident in Lamar Co., AL. JB was born on June 21, 1995 the only child to Johnny Reece and Kimberly Young Reece. He graduated from Tupelo High School in 2014 where he was a State championship swimmer. A avowed Ole Miss fan, JB completed his BS in Business Administration from the University of Mississippi. He worked the last several years for Century Construction Company as a truck driver. He enjoyed ballgames, tailgating in the Grove and all things Hotty Toddy!! He managed to keep and cherish a great circle of friends from the Tupelo School System that remained his buddies throughout his life. JB loved playing golf, hanging out with his closest friends, hunting, animals and the great outdoors. While his life was all too brief, he cut a wide path of influence and left memories and lessons in loving life, living large and giving all he had to his family and friends. He was a member of the Belden Baptist Church.
A Celebration of JB’s life will be held at 2PM Monday, December 5, 2022 in the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo.. A graveside service will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Houlka. Visitation will be from 12PM-2PM on Monday, December 5, 2022 at Holland Funeral Directors which is honored to be serving their friends. Pallbearers will be Gage Foster, Bentley Martin, Riley Turner, Chase Cannon, Reece Megginson, Jacob Gammill, Patrick Dye, Logan Magana, Daison Maloney, Ethyn English and Dakota Hallman. Honorary Pallbearers will be Michael Martin and David Foster. Survivors include his wife, Mary Beth Reece; his parents, Johnny and Kim Reece and his in-laws Eric & Deanna Maloney all of Tupelo; his grandparents, Mary Frances Young of Saltillo and Marian Fay Maloney (Thomas Counce) of Tupelo. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Gary Young, Peter Maloney, Ernal Tidwell and Walter Reece and his mother in law, Beth Ann Maloney.
