John B Mays John B. Mays, born June 26th, 1951 to Edwin and Bernice Mays in Columbus, Ohio. He joined the army and went to Vietnam in 1970 as a part of the 1st Cavalry Division, 15th Transportation Company. In 1971, he was chosen to be in the Color Guard detail that brought his unit’s colors home and retired them. He completed his training in electronics and was honorably discharged in 1977. He spent the next 33 years in contract manufacturing. John’s greatest loves were his family, his church family, and the Vietnam Veterans of America.

He is survived by his wife Theresa, his children John, Mason, Stacy and Shelby, and his grandchildren Brandon, Anna and Sarah.

He was preceded by his father Edwin, his mother Bernice, his sisters Dixie, Laura and Margie, and his brothers Charles and Wally.

Welcome home John, welcome home.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 1st, from 12:00-2:00 PM at Berryhill Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow, with burial taking place at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
