John Anthony Furno, 87, of Madison, Alabama passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2023.
He is preceded in death by his parents John and Mary Furno.
John is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Marian Furno; children Mike (Cheri), Chris, Kathy (John) Shelton, Dan (Kim), and grandchildren Nicole (Michael), Emily (Andrew), Jason (Haley), and Anthony.
Upon graduation from the University of Illinois, John served in the U.S. Army for 2 years, and worked for over 30 years as a Contract Manager for the U.S. Army.
Outside of work, John was an enthusiastic fan of the Illinois Fighting Illini, Chicago Bears, Chicago White Sox, and coaching his children’s sports teams. He also enjoyed bowling, golfing, traveling, and volunteering with Meals on Wheels. John was also a long-time member and usher of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
A visitation will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Madison, Alabama on Friday, April 28, 2023, from 12:30 P.M. to 1:30 P.M. with a funeral mass following at 1:30 P.M. A reception will follow the funeral mass.

John was deeply loved by all his family and friends. He will forever be missed.
