John Andreoli was called to the Lord Saturday, January 28, 2023. He was the son of Vittorio and Margaret Alpe Andreoli. John had nine brothers and three sisters, all deceased. John was the youngest. He was born in Memphis, Tennessee and attended schools at St. Thomas, Immaculate Conception and Catholic High Schools. He also attended schools St. Bernard High School and College in Cullman, Alabama, and Athens University in Athens, Alabama.

He married the love of his life, Delores Mackey, on June 30, 1959.

John joined the Army in 1953 with the 11th Airborne Division. He attended radio school in Germany and Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, where he learned to love electronics. He became a maintenance technician on the Nike Hercules Missile System. He also attended the year long Warrant Officers Nike Hercules Maintenance Course at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama and served in Germany, Korea, and Taiwan. CWO Andreoli retired from military service in 1973. He worked two years for the Bendix Corp., one year for the U.S. Army’s Roland Missile System, and twelve years for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

His hobbies were gardening, maintaining the Clutts Road blue bird trail, and maintaining the purple martin colony on his farm.

Survivors include his wife of over 63 years, Delores; daughters, Kim Holl (Bernard) and Donna Arbide (Franc); and grandchildren, which were his pride and joy, Kirstin, Kyle and Alexander of Miami, Florida.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 31 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 1 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Monrovia Fire Department.
