John A. Hall, age 80 of Cowan, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Franklin County on August 9, 1939 to the late John L. and Pearlie Ann (Campbell) Hall. John served in the Tennessee Army National Guard and was employed as a foreman with A and G Equipment and The Rogers Group until his retirement. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing and attended Decherd Church of Nazarene. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Rena Mae “Flo’ Hall; mother of his children, Geneva Master Hall Hudson; and brothers, James Leonard Hall and Donald Ray Hall. He is survived by his loving children, Michael (Tammy) Hall of Belvidere, Marvin Hall of LaVergne, Lynette (Roger) Ivey of Lynchburg, and Rickey Hall of Cowan; brothers, Hoyt (Judy) Hall of Estill Springs, and Pete (Shirley) Hall of Estill Springs; sister-in-law, Diane Hall of Estill Springs; grandchildren, Tabitha (Michael) Stinnett, Clay (Rachel) Hall, Michael (Misty) Hall, Roger (Brittany) Ivey, Jesse (Lacy) Ivey, Christopher (Melissa) Hall, Shelby (Trestin) York, and Jessica Hall; great-grandchildren, Saede Stinnett, Clark Stinnett, Zack Hall, Zoey Hall, Easton Hall, Carson Hall, Kerrigan Hall, Jada Ivey, Sadie Ivey, Allie Ivey, Eli Ivey, Penny Ivey, Paisley Ivey, Austin Hall, Iliyah Hall, and Cora Meadows; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Friday, January 10, 2020 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 11, 2020 in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Rev. Brian Nave officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens with military honors bestowed.
