Joellen Frances Yamamori, 55, of Elkmont, passed away on September 22nd, 2026. She was born on May 31st, 1971, to Paul Ramsey Sr. and Nancy Smith Ramsey.
Joellen was a loving daughter, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughter, Angelica Yamamori; her parents, Paul Ramsey Sr. and Nancy Smith Ramsey; brothers, Paul Ramsey Jr. and Dale Ramsey (Kathy); sisters, Corinne Davis (Tommy) and Lucinda Ramsey; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services for Joellen Frances Yamamori will be held on Saturday, September 26th, 2026, at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Germantown Cemetery.
Joellen was an avid traveler in her youth after graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, visiting Japan, India, England, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines. She was a missionary in Albania and taught English in Taiwan. After moving back to the United States, she had her only daughter. Following her cancer diagnosis, she moved for treatment and eventually graduated with an Associate’s degree in nursing and became a psychiatric nurse. She was a strong, tenacious, loving, funny, and intelligent woman.
Joellen will be remembered with love by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
