Funeral Services for Joel Lee Rozelle, age 62 of Ashland, were held Thursday, August 6, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland with Rev. David Rozelle officiating. Burial followed in the Clay County Memory Gardens.
Born in Sylacauga, Mr. Rozelle lived most of his life in Clay County. After graduating from Clay County High School, he served in the U.S. Navy and worked as a body and fender repairman at Midway. Joel was a big Alabama Football fan with a great sense of humor that he kept up until his death.
He is survived by one daughter: Melissa Dawn Butler of Delta; his mother: Mamie Rozelle of Ashland; three grandchildren: Hayley, Anna, and Aaron Butler; two sisters: Teresa Daugherty (Joey) of Delta, and Merry Martin of Ashland; three brothers: David Rozelle (Carolyn) of Ashland, Paul Rozelle (Rosemary) of Lawrenceville, GA, and Jerry Rozelle (Cindy) of Sylvester, GA;
He is preceded in death by his father: Thomas Houston Rozelle Jr.; one daughter: Shelly Marie Rozelle; and one brother: Michael Clark Rozelle.
Kris Rozelle, Kevin Rozelle, Jeremiah Rozelle, Houston Daugherty, Seth Martin and Joseph Daugherty will serve as pallbearers.
Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland is in charge of arrangements.
