Joe Wheeler Durham, 88, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2020. He was born in Limestone County, Alabama on June 6, 1931. Son of Alvie W. and Ada V. (Draper) Durham.
Funeral services for Mr. Durham will be in held on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. with Jeff Durham and Richard Durham officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Hester’s Chapel Cemetery.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving during the Korean War. He loved crafts, gardening and helping others.
He is survived by his sons, Bruce Durham of Coloma, Michigan and Gregory Durham and wife Lynne of Georgia and; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brothers, David Durham of Athens, Al, Franklin “Bud” Durham of Minor Hill, TN and Richard Durham of Lester, AL; sister, Bonnie Durham Barnett of O’Brien, FL.
Preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Horace, William, Robert and Gerald; five sisters, Marie, Martha, Margaret, Patricia and Mary.
Pallbearers are Bruce Durham, Brent Durham, Brad Durham, Kelly Durham, Dwight Bridges and David Evans.
