Joe Lawson Wright age 77, of Collierville, TN, died Monday, October 5, 2015. He was born July 23, 1938 near Hartselle, AL to Joe Everett Wright and Lottie Bean Wright. He was a graduate of Morgan County High School and Athens College. He was employed for 14 years as an Alabama Conservation Officer in Geneva, Choctaw, and Morgan Counties. He retired after 20 years of service as a Special Agent with The US Fish & Wildlife Service. Joe, too, was retired from the Alabama National Guard with 26 years of creditable service. He was a member of the Collierville Presbyterian Church for 18 years.

He is survived by:

Wife of 54 years:
Margaret McCutcheon Wright of Collierville, TN.

2 Daughters:
Professor Melinda Wright, currently residing in Pocheon, South Korea
Sabrina Mercer of Collierville, TN.

4 Grandchildren:
Brianna Milner of Memphis, TN.
Skyler Milner of Memphis, TN.
Alexis Mercer of Collierville, TN.
Carmen Mercer of Collierville, TN.

Visitation will be from 10 AM to 11 AM at Peck Funeral Home in Hartselle on Saturday, October 10, 2015 with graveside service conducted at 11:30 AM at Bethel Cemetery on Bethel Road north of Hartselle with Paige McRight officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

The family has suggested that any memorial gifts should be given to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
