Funeral mass for Joe Keeney, age 97, of Decatur, will be Tuesday, May 22, 2018, 2:00 p.m. at the Annunciation of the Lord Catholic church with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Keeney died Thursday, May 17, 2018. He was born March 24, 1921 in Greenville, AL, to Joe and Mary Keeney.
He was preceded in death by his wife Frances H. Keeney. They were married 70 years at the time of her death. He is survived by his two sons, Joseph Paul (Betty) Keeney of Hillsville, VA, and Kevin Howell (Gracia) Keeney of Decatur; two daughters, Maureen K. (Ron) Chase of Osage Beach, MO, and Erin Frances (Rob) Birchmeier of Decatur; his brothers Herman, Fred and Frank Keeney; six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s organization (ALZ.org)
