Joe Elbert Caraway, age 74, died May 10, 2017, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was born April 11, 1943 at Montezuma, the son of the late Elmer Mayhew and Myrtle Orlando Seeley Caraway. He attended Chester County schools. He entered the U.S. Army and was stationed in Alaska. He married Donna Riley in 1967. They made their home at Montezuma. He drove a truck for Robert Wamble and Sonny Record and later drove for Aqua Glass out of Adamsville for twenty years, retiring in 1994.
Joe loved his family and wanted to always be with them. He loved the Montezuma Community. He was a member of the Montezuma Methodist Church.
Mr. Caraway is survived by his wife, Donna Elease Riley Caraway of Henderson; two sons, Cary Caraway of Lexington and David Caraway of Dover and a daughter, Angela Durrance of Bethel Springs; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren and a sister, Joey Koffman of Trenton, TN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, John Wayne Caraway and a sister, Patsy Geary.
