Joe Dillard Bagwell, 68, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2025. He was born on February 28, 1956, in Huntsville, AL to Buford and Martha Bagwell. Joe was a Huntsville High School graduate and earned a degree in psychology from UAH, where he was a cheerleader. Joe had a long and distinguished career in advertising at The Huntsville Times. He loved reading his Bible, his family, and enjoyed golfing. Joe would want to be remembered for his love for Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior, and now lives with Him in Heaven.
He was predeceased by his parents, his son, Joseph Malcolm Bagwell, brother, Buford Wayne Bagwell, and grandparents, Burch Dillard and Etta Lee Bagwell, and Joe Baxter and Bessie Odell Harris. He was also predeceased by several aunts and uncles.
Joe is survived by his sisters, Lynn B. Bell (Gary) and Gail Johnson; brother, Tracy G. Bagwell (Susanne); nephews, Jason Bagwell, David Bagwell, Matt Bell (Caroline), Joshua Bagwell (Anne), and Jordan Bagwell; nieces, Claire Bagwell, Kristin Romback (Anthony), Anna Johnson, Lauren Johnson and Heather Bagwell; and several great nephews and nieces. He would want to thank his dear friend Melissa Putzier for all her love and support through the years.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Whitesburg Baptist Church Chapel, South Campus, 7300 Whitesburg Drive, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11 a.m. with Pastor Murray Wilton officiating.
