Joe David Reeves was born October 20, 1946 in Waynesboro, TN, the son of the late Floyd Harold Reeves, Sr. and Esther Mae Matlock Reeves. Mr. Reeves was a carpenter and served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict. Mr. Reeves departed this life, Friday, April 26, 2019 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, TN at the age of 72 years, six months, nine days.
Survivors include son, Jerry Reeves, Florence; daughters, Theresa Riley, Florence, Teena Goodloe, Muscle Shoals and Josie Reeves, Greenhill; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Johnny Reeves, Portland, TN; sisters, Betty Risner, Collinwood, TN and Mary Ann Butler and Barbara Davis, both of Waynesboro, TN; nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Reeves was preceded in death by daughter, Peggy Reeves; brother, Floyd Harold Reeves, Jr. and sister, Geraldine Thrasher.
Services with military rites will be today, April 30, 2019 at 3 p.m. at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel, Waynesboro, with Laverne Griggs officiating. At his request, his body will be cremated and buried in Shields Cemetery, Waynesboro, with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing. Visitation will be from noon until service time at the funeral home.
