Joe B. Ledbetter Joe B. Ledbetter, known to friends as “Jay” and most others as “Pa” passed away on Monday, June 15th at the age of 75.

A lifelong native of New Hope, Jay was a mechanic for the City of Huntsville for 30 years and to a large population of New Hope for many more. Jay was a hard-working man that enjoyed spending most of his time outdoors and helping others. He loved cars, John Deere tractors and taking care of his family.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Elaine, and his daughter Melissa (Thom) and granddaughter Lilly.

He was proceeded in death by his father, Eddie Theodore Ledbetter; his mother, Lillie Ann Ledbetter; brother, Johnny Ledbetter; and sisters, Evelyn Davis, Jennie James, Barbara James.

He is lovingly remembered by his brothers Eddie Theodore (Eula Mae) Ledbetter, Jr. and Danny (Jeanette) Ledbetter; his sisters, Marie Nichols, Betty Kiper, and Linda (John) Honea, and nephew, Lewis Ledbetter, and close family friend, Cory Cooper.

Visitation with social distancing guidelines will be Wednesday, June 17, 2020 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at New Hope Funeral Home. A celebration of life will follow 3:00 pm at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel with Ricky Beck officiating.

Interment will be in Hayden Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chad Bolton, Cory Cooper, Joe Crocitto, Mark Godsey, Jim Honea, Chuck Null, Mac Webster

Those who desire may make memorial donations in memory of Jay to New Hope High School Band.
