Joe Alford Laxson, 79, of Athens, AL passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2019 at Huntsville Hospital. Mr. Laxson was born June 30, 1940 in Limestone County to William Henry Laxson and Reatha Vinson Laxson.
He was a Technician at Wyle Lab He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Clifton, John, Melvin and Marion and one sister, Arline Presnell.
He is survived by his wife, Douglas Laxson of Athens, sons, Joe Wade Laxson (Stephanie) of Athens and David Troy Laxson (Jennifer) of Athens, daughters, Angie Moran (Jimmy) of Athens and Kimberly Schrimsher (Andy) of Athens, one brother, Mahlon Laxson of Chicago, IL, sisters, Faye Cox of Rome, GA, Linda Carter (Don) of Athens, and Ruby Singer of Athens, eight grandchildren, Tabitha Moran Hill (Raleigh), Blake Moran, Preston Laxson, Dalton Laxson, Cole Schrimsher, Claire Schrimsher, Chase Laxson, and Meagan Laxson, two great grandchildren, Gage Hill and Tatum Hill and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Blake Moran, Preston Laxson, Dalton Laxson, Chase Laxson, Gage Hill and Raleigh Hill. A Graveside service will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Bethel Cemetery on Hwy 72 in Athens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethel Church of Christ Building Fund.
