Jody Lee Brown, 46, of Morgan County, died Sunday , August 23, 2015. Jody is predeceased by his father, Larry Brown, brother Jason Lowery, grandfather, Robert Brown, grandfather Clifton “Shorty” Long, grandmother, Emma Wallace Long. Jody is survived by his loving wife, Heather, of 24 years. They were married in Danville, Al on July 5, 1991. Jody is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Crystal Brown, Granddaughter, Aurora Nelson, mother, Sherry Long, Grandmother, Nell Brown and a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
Jody Lee Brown, was born, July 3, 1969, in Decatur, Alabama. He graduated from Danville High School in 1987. Jody enjoyed helping feed the homeless and rescue homeless pitbulls and other dogs.
Funeral service for Mr. Brown will be Wednesday August 26, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. Shelton Funeral Home, with Rev. Joel Snyder officiating. Visitation will be, Tuesday 25, 2015 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the chapel. Burial will be at Johnson Chapel. Pallbearers are Brad Childers, Micheal Lowery, Tim Taylor, Jerry L. Bishop, James Novalis, Danny Smitherman, Andrey Keaty, Lane Roden. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brandon Nelson and James Brock.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Jody will be missed but I will cherish each memory of him. God bless you all in this terrible time and keep you in his loving care in the months and years to come.
Thank you so much for your kind words. It certainly doesn’t get any easier, but we are slowly learning to go on with only his memory, and adapting to a new normal.
