Jocelyne Marie Barrett, 73, of Winchester, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at her home on August 29, 2025.
Born on October 20, 1951, in Cap-Haïtien, Haiti, to the late Carmela Bervin and Gabriel Bervin, Jocelyne later made her home in Chicago, Illinois, where she lived for the majority of her life before eventually settling in Middle Tennessee.
For most of her life, she worked as a dedicated dietitian in healthcare, where she touched countless lives through her knowledge, care, and compassion.
Beyond her career, Jocelyne lived life on her own terms. She enjoyed the simple pleasures—whether spending time with her family, testing her luck at the casino, or sharing laughter and stories with those around her. She was also deeply generous, and no matter how big or small, she regularly contributed to St. Jude, supporting a cause that was close to her heart.
Jocelyne was preceded in death by her parents, Carmela and Gabriel Bervin, as well as her sister, Magalie Rodriguez.
She is survived by her daughter, Kelli Rembiszewski; grandchildren, Michelle Milliken (Tyler), Joel Nieves (McKenna), Daniel Rembiszewski, and Lisa Thomas; great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Olivia Milliken, Houston Nieves, and Willow Dellingner; and sisters Gabrielle Austin (Wayne), Bernadette Mayer (Wolfgang), and Shirley Pettiford; and nieces and nephews Christina, David, Alejandro, Nicole, Anthony, Elizabeth (Lizzy), Chase, Tyler, Priscilla, Melissa, and Sarah.
She will be remembered for her warmth, resilience, and the love she shared with those around her. Her presence brought comfort, laughter, and kindness to many, and she leaves behind a legacy of compassion that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Services to honor Jocelyne’s life will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Winchester, Tennessee with funeral services following at 1:00 pm. Interment will be at Gardens of Memory in McMinnville, Tennessee.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
