Memorial service for Joanne Marsh, age 69, of Decatur, will be Saturday, February 27, 2016, 5:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel, officiating Father Alan Garner and Rev. Randy Rathman. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 27, 2016, one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
Mrs. Marsh passed away peacefully, Thursday, February 25, 2016, surrounded by her family. She was born November 18, 1946, and grew up in Detroit MI.
She is survived by her husband John Marsh Sr.; her mother, Phyllis D’Haene; her oldest son, John Marsh Jr. (Sally); youngest son, Dan Marsh (Melanie); her grandchildren, Sidney, Emily, Jack and Shepherd.
Joanne enjoyed retirement with her husband as members of the Lake Guntersville Sailing Club, where they competed in sailing races and fulfilled a lifelong love of sailing together. She could often be found working in her yard at her Burningtree home of 35 years. She was a caring daughter, a loving wife, a doting mother and our beloved matriarch.
