Joann Steele

Age 66 of Madison, passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Skyline Medical Center. She was born January 4, 1955 in Madison, TN to John Wesley & Mabel Helen Goodermuth Steele. She retired with 20+ years service from CNA Insurance. She was a very kind hearted lady who loved animals, especially dachshunds and was always willing to give toward the treatment of animals in a generous way. She enjoyed collecting books and magazines and was an avid fan of Law and Order SVU. When she could get time off from work, she also loved to travel. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Coles; brother-in-law, Allen Coles. She is survived by her sister, Phyllis (Ronnie) Tomlinson, Cross Plains, TN; niece, Sherry Annette Coles, Nashville, TN. Funeral service is scheduled for Sunday, September 5, 2021 at 2pm in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House, with Bro. Billy Bowers officiating. Interment will follow in Old Brush Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation is planned for Saturday, September 4, 2021 4-8PM and Sunday, September 5, 2021 12-2pm at the funeral home.
