JoAnn Ray, 72, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at North Ms. Medical Center, Tupelo, MS. She was born in Franklin County, AL and was a daycare worker. She was a member of Believer’s Baptist Church.
Services will be Saturday, August 16, 3 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Belmont, MS with Bro. Tommy King and Bro. Trey Washburn officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, August 16, 2-3 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS. Burial will be in Altar Baptist Church Cemetery, Highway 23, Tremont, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by a sister, Katherine Solberg; nieces, Marlo Credille (Gary) and Jennifer Ballard; nephew, Joe Ballard (Melissa); great-nieces, Briana Wood (Shane), Kaileigh Pratt (Alek) and JoLia Ballard; great-great-nieces and nephews, Charli & Kip Wood, Tay Randolph and Asher Pratt and sisters-in-law, Kim Conwill and Pat Parrish (Larry).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Ray; father, Dewey Ballard; mother, Ilene Lancaster, two brothers, Wayne Ballard and Larry Ballard and sister-in-love, Diane Ballard.
Pallbearers will be Gary Credille, Joe Ballard, Shane Wood and Jimmy McKinney.
